It’s tough to go alone, so take some friends in Palworld multiplayer and let them do the hard work. You can join four or 32 players, depending on the platform, for your Palworld adventures, but the monster-catching game isn’t keen on actually telling you how to do it. Our Palworld multiplayer guide explains how to play with friends and what co-op features are available on each platform.
How to play Palworld multiplayer sessions
If you want to play Palworld with friends, you have two options. You can create a world of your own and host your friends in a pretty straightforward way. From the world selection screen, choose “create a new world.” Then, toggle the “multiplayer” setting to on. It’s off by default, so every time you make a world for co-op play, you’ll need to toggle it back on. That’s all you need to do at this point, so just start the game as normal after that.
You’ll need to decide before starting a session whether you want to play solo or with friends The settings you pick when you start a new game apply to that world for a session’s duration.
If you start a single-player world and want to switch to multiplayer, you’ll have to highlight your world and pick “Change world settings” before beginning a session. You can also input an invitation code on the title screen to join a friend’s world.
If you’re playing on Xbox or Windows, you can only play with up to three other players. Palworld on Steam gives you the option to created dedicated servers that host up to 32 players.
Palworld invite code
If you want to join with an invitation code, you’ll have to get your friend to send it to you outside the game. Your invite code that you can send to friends lives in the options menu, though only if you’re playing in a world with multiplayer enabled. Click the eye icon to reveal the code, and pass it along to your friends.
The code changes every time you start a session, so you’ll have to repeat this process whenever you and your friends play.
How does Palworld co-op work?
Whatever you do on your own in Palworld, you can do with friends. Palworld co-op lets you build together, explore, battle other creatures, and share resources. There’s no Palworld PvP yet, though, so you can’t actually challenge each other to battles.
How does Palworld cross-play work?
Palworld supports crossplay between Xbox Series X|S and PC via Windows as of the game’s early access launch on Jan. 19, 2024. Developer Pocketpair intends to add full crossplay support between the Xbox ecosystem and Steam at some point, but there’s no anticipated date for its launch.
Wide-open expanses, unique biomes, and even stranger creatures await you in Palworld. You can learn more about the game in our guides hub.
